This project offered by EPOC will investigate the benefits and drawbacks of changes to Transpower's dispatch and pricing model (SPD) to accommodate grid-scale batteries, improve spinning reserve constraints, and investigate day-ahead dispatch. The student will make use of the Electricity Authority vSPD software and modify this with new features that can be tested and compared with the existing system.
